I found this book to be helpful in many areas. I tattoo, but wanted to understand more of the technical aspect of it. This book helped me understand better how a machine works, & how to tweak my machine to my liking. You won’t read this book & open your own shop the next day, but there is a lot of good information in all aspects of tattooing. Including how to deal with customers, drawing deposits, aftercare, etc. I recommend this book to someone who wants to understand their trade better.

The Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo is a relatively informative book that really needs an editor. The information, while there, is difficult to access due to constant typos, poor grammar and bad organization. It is overly general, specifically on the topics of shading and coloring, saying there are many style and techniques and that it is truly a matter of preference but does not go into detail on the foundations of those topics. Any one going into any artistic field will know that it is made up of much personal preference but without a foundation to build on, you go no where.

For the most part the information is good and it’s a useful book for a beginner.

This product did arrive fast, but it lacked in quality. It is not a tattoo ‘creator’ or ‘designer’. It is simply pick and choose from their clip art. You cant even choose where to click and drag images. They are low resolution and not detailed. The only control you would have is to choose the color but there was a problem with the software I received and it did not function properly.

The book has all the flash in it and the CD allows you to customize the flash sheet, by letting you choose the ones you want on it. Although it allows you to do that it is not ONE MILLION tattoos, it is the same set of flash you just change the arrangement of it.

This is a great book for the price, the disk gives you lots of options and the book itself puts different styles together in ways that you may not have thought of before. You can even use the book to create temporary tattoos so that you can try the design before you actually go through the painful process of having it permanently etched into your skin.
